The MREC presents this page in cooperation with on-going research at the University of Wisconsin - Madison on the use of high speed (HS) and high volume low speed (HVLS) fans for cooling and ventilation of dairy barns. This research is being conducted by Dr. David W. Kammel of the Biological Systems Engineering Department, with funding from Wisconsin Public Service Corporation, Wisconsin Focus on Energy, and HVLS Fan Company.

On July 31, 2002, a poster session on HVLS fans was presented by UW- Madison at the 2002 conference of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers. The poster provides an overview of the research project and includes some field data obtained todate.
