Title: Dairy Expansion -- What's New in Facilities and Design and What's to Come
Summary:
This presentation will examine the facility requirements for an expanding dairy. Whether it is a 150-cow expansion or an 800-cow expansion, the basic needs of the cow and the operator are the same. Discussion topics include: freestall barn design, milking parlors, manure systems, site selection and planning.

Steve Gostisha is a Farm Business Consultant for Farm Credit Services of Northeast Wisconsin. He is a Certified Agricultural Consultant specializing in dairy design and layout. In addition to having 14 years experience in quality milk production, facility designs and business planning, he has a degree in farm management and dairy production from UW-River Falls.
