About the Speaker:
Mr. Daly is Vice President and Manager of Utility
Systems Planning at Power System Engineering Inc. (PSE), where he has been since
1975 in various progressive positions. Recent
projects include work in the areas of distributed generation, reliability
performance, utility mergers, retail access, distribution automation, and
wireless communications.
Most recently, Mr. Daly and Mr. Larson (see below)
assisted the Minnesota regulated utilities prepare consolidated comments to the
Minnesota PUC on the development of distributed generation interconnection
standards. In 2001, Mr. Daly lead a
study for the Electric Power Research Institute on distributed resources for
grid support and completed efforts on a distributed generation feasibility study
for a major US utility.
During his career with PSE, Mr. Daly has held the
following positions: Manager of Automation Technology (1994-1999), responsible
for managing a research team with special emphasis on utility automation;
Principal Engineer and Manager of Computer Services and Forecasting (1988-1992),
with responsibility for client liaison, and project direction on a variety of
electric utility engineering projects; Manager of Computer Systems (1982-1988),
with primary responsibility for marketing and developing PSE’s personal
computer products for the electric utility industry.

About the Speaker:
Mr.
Larson is a Vice President with Power System Engineering, Inc.
He holds a BA degree in Economics and a MBA from the University of
Minnesota. For the past 18 years he
has worked on rate related matters for gas and electric utilities.
Prior to joining PSE, Doug worked at Dakota Electric Association, an
electric distribution cooperative serving the southern suburbs of the
Minneapolis - St. Paul area. Before
that, Doug was a Senior Rate Analyst with the Minnesota Department of Public
Service.
