What is the MREC?
The MREC is a membership organization
with Land Grant Universities in the upper
Midwest whose mission is to support
outreach, education and research on rural
energy issues for the benefit of:
- Farms and other rural energy consumers
- Rural energy suppliers
- Farm organizations and agricultural trade associations
- Electrical equipment and allied industries
- Government regulatory agencies

Meetings of the Board of Directors
The Board of Directors convenes on a periodic basis.
Regularly scheduled meetings are held in conjunction with the annual conference
and a fall meeting in mid-September. Other meetings are scheduled as needed.
Membership
You are welcome to become a member of the MREC. There are two types of
memberships: Full and Affiliate. Full Memberships are available
to investor-owned utilities, state-wide rural electric cooperative associations
and other utilities and utility organizations.
Full memberships require a formal petition to the Board of Directors.
Interested parties should contact the MREC secretary at the address located
at the bottom of this page.
Affiliate Memberships are available to other energy organizations, trade
affiliates, educational institutions, individuals and entities that may desire
membership. To apply for

Membership Dues (annual)
Full Memberships
$4300 - for statewide electric cooperative associations
$1500 - for investor owned utilities
Affiliate Memberships
$450 - Corporate Affiliate: for an organization other than an investor owned
utility or statewide electric cooperative organization.
